Participating in the reception held in honor of Egypt's National Day, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tzipi Livni said, "The perception that the regional conflict is a conflict between Jews and Arabs is a thing of the past. Israel and Egypt both subscribe to the understanding that the extremists pose a threat on the moderates, and this understanding forms the basis of the increasing collaboration between the two countries.
As leaders, we must encourage and assimilate this understanding among the nations, because peace is also based on the desire of nations to live in peace and mutual respect with each other".
